Grilling season is here (or at least imminently close), and if you have a backyard party on the books, or maybe just want to stock your freezer for a summer's worth of al fresco meals, you'll want to make a beeline for Costco's freezer section.

While the butcher department offers all sorts of grillable meats, from briskets and tri-tip roasts to giant packages of "party wings" and rib-eye steaks, the freezer section is where you'll find healthful options like wild Alaskan fish, veggie burgers, and more.

Here are our top picks for the best grill-worthy items in Costco's freezer section.

1. Trident Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers, $18 for three pounds

You get 12 substantial-sized patties in each pack, for about $1.50 each. They're made from sustainably caught salmon and blended with onion, garlic, and mustard powder, so they're flavorful but won't clash with whatever you want to serve them with. You can even break them up and add them to salads and wraps.

2. Trident Wild Alaskan Pollack Burgers, $12 for three pounds

These are just like the salmon burgers, but far cheaper because they're made with sustainably caught Pollack instead. This mild, firm-fleshed fish is perfect for anyone who doesn't like salmon or wants a change of pace, and you can break them up and use them as filling for fish tacos.

3. Morey's Marinated Wild Alaskan Salmon, $19 for 2.25 pounds

If you want your salmon in an elegant fillet rather than burger form, but don't want to fuss with having to marinate it, these frozen fillets are for you. They're comprised of keta salmon, which has a lower oil content and, therefore, a milder flavor. A simple marinade of canola and olive oils, garlic, and paprika gives them a flavor profile that goes with almost anything.

4. Kirkland Signature Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, $33 for three pounds

Want to make your own fish marinade? No problem. Costco's Kirkland brand sockeye salmon is sustainably caught and individually frozen without any seasonings in 5- to 7- ounce portions. At about $11 per pound, the price is right too.

5. Columbus Seasoned Turkey Burgers, $10 for 3.33 pounds

If you love burgers but are trying to cut down on red meat, try these 90% lean poultry patties. They're made with antibiotic-free ground turkey mixed with seasonings like garlic, onions, and rosemary extract. And they're generously sized at 1/3 pound each.

6. Don Lee Farms Chipotle Black Bean, $14 for three pounds

Made with black beans and brown rice mixed with corn, red peppers, tomatoes, and spicy chipotle chiles, these organic 1/4-pound patties offer a Southwest spin on the usual veggie burgers.

7. Don Lee Farms Superfoods Veggie, $14 for two pounds, 1.6 ounces

At almost 3 ounces each, the 12 organic patties in this box are a little smaller than their black bean brethren, but they're packed with quinoa, carrots, and kale.

8. Kirkland Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs, $13 for 6.5 pounds

Yes, the freezer section also has boneless, skinless breasts, but moist and meaty chicken thighs are much better suited to the heat of the grill. Give these a dunk in a marinade or a rub in spices before their trip to the grill.

9. Kirkland Chicken Wings, $22 for 10 pounds

Few things are better than finger-lickin' chicken wings bathed in sticky barbecue or Buffalo sauce and given a good char on a hot grill. Wings give you a high sauce-to-meat ratio that's downright irresistible, and you can't beat Costco's price.

10. Quick 'N Eat Angus Choice Beef Patties, $15 for three pounds

These patties, made with Angus beef, are fully cooked, but that's why they're so great for the grill. No need to worry about over- or undercooking. Just slap them on the grates and give them a few minutes to warm through and get a little char.
